If you’re living with long COVID, you’ve probably asked this question more than once:
Why is this taking so long?

To answer that, we have to understand the billion dollar RECOVER project. RECOVER, and specifically the subgroup called TLC, is in charge of testing medications to treat long COVID.

It is slow, flawed—and very powerful.

RECOVER-TLC recently updated us on the status of four therapies they’ve chosen for clinical trials. The presentation was comprehensive, but dense. I know how tough it can be to follow talks like this when you’re dealing with sensory and cognitive issues, so I’m translating it for you in real terms.

I’ll explain everything you need to know, including:

  1. Why the research is taking as long as it is.

  2. What treatments are being studied (and how you can enroll).

  3. What this means for our chances of finally having an approved long COVID treatment.

We have a lot to cover. I’ll start by explaining the research process, then each of the four treatments.
