Hello hello 👋🏽 Back in August I was hospitalized for c diff, and colonization with salmonella. I was perfectly normal before the hospital, but after all four antibiotics, and 6 bags of D5NS solution given without vitamin B1, I was discharged and 2 days later ended up with insane tachycardia. Saline normalized the tachycardia, but I started getting full body tremors and neuropathy. This would later go on to become severe polyuria, impending doom attacks, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, blood pooling, etc. No one could figure out why, but after 7 weeks someone finally tested vitamin B1 after I requested it. Turned out the level was undetectable in my plasma. I am now 5 months into treating with B1, and it's been an absolute nightmare to manage electrolytes and everything else, but I'm having a very gradual improvement. What's one of the craziest things is that saline used to work to bring my heart rate down, now when they give me saline bolus it makes things significantly worse.

This is helpful, thanks! Long Covid has caused me often to be meh about food. A change in tastebuds, a few new food intolerances. I sometimes forget or am uninterested to eat but I set up my smart speaker to remind me: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. It helps.
