Zeest, I am sure many of your readers and listeners share this sentiment: talking to you and listening to you felt like catching up with an old friend, even though this was our first “meeting.” Long Covid, MD has been an invaluable resource for both patient and clinician communities. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

Pardon my shameless self-promotion! This episode came out at the perfect time, as my most recent post in my newsletter, Ask The Patient, touched on what we talked about exactly: not listening to the patient is bad medicine.

I feel like it’s not just in medicine that LC patients aren’t being listened to, it’s every aspect of our lives. I just had an au pair quit (unfortunately her dad was a doctor who was telling her LC wasn’t real) because she told me that I didn’t need one. I can’t drive & extremely limited mobility and my husband travels for work. I need someone who can help me take care of my children & take them to their activities. But according to a 19 year old I was just being lazy & not taking care of my kids myself. Both medical professionals & general public need to be educated on how severe & devastating these illnesses can be so that we aren’t questioned constantly just attempting to get basic needs met
