I have been embedded professionally and personally in integrative medicine/whole person healthcare and credit integrative approaches to helping me deal with the confounding and on-going reality of Long Covid. I also agree with you, Dr Kahn re: the concern of healthism and its impact on public health and access to care and benefits for people suffering with chronic conditions. Dr Oz and RFK Jr should take a very close look at the success the Veterans Administration has had with their whole person health approach to care - lowering costs and improving patient outcomes for veterans with chronic disease. It offers a model of care that could be brought into insurance companies and Medicare/Medicaid. There ought to be no moralistic and personalized judgment in our healthcare system when so much is lacking already …

I don't know anyone who WANTS long COVID - 6 horrible weeks of my initial infection in March -April 2020 would kill that "desire" to have it continue for 5 more years up till now unless you're a masochist -
And do these idiots - I mean, intelligent, educated men (putting my polite hat on) NOT know how all you mentioned - air pollution, horrible work conditions, genetics, inherited illnesses you're born with, lack of access to decent health care, gaslighting by medical professionals with an honest lack of knowledge of how to treat a brand new virus (just say "we don't know yet" (some hope please?) - are the major factors in developing Long COVID, NOT "bad lifestyle choices" or "bad habits" or "lack of self-care" - do these 2 very visible & powerful men you mentioned even have the intelligence that merits the title "Dr" or more than being related to one of the most powerful political families in the country who USED to live up to that reputation, both positions which used to have COMPASSION & DO NO HARM as the code of honor that seems to have been TOTALLY FORGOTTEN & ABANDONED as Long COVID either kills people or disables them????
Ok I'll shut up now as my polite hat seems to have slipped off & totally disappeared. And when I get mad my pain gets worse.
